Established in 2015, the Jiangsu Birth Cohort Biobank of Nanjing Medical University is located on the basement first floor of School of Public Health of Nanjing Medical University. It covers an area of about 1,360 square meters and has 23 rooms, which are mainly divided into five functional areas comprehensive monitoring, material storage, file management, sample processing and sample storage. Except for sample collection, sample warehousing, outbound, storage, information registration, information tracking and quality control are all carried out in the biological sample bank.

The biobank adopts advanced biological sample management system (RURO FreezerPro) to mark, locate, query and manage all samples in and out of the bank, and adopts comprehensive monitoring platform to monitor and manage the daily operation.

In order to ensure the normal maintenance and operation and the quality control of samples in and out of the bank, the sample bank has formulated a standardized guarantee system for biological sample bank.

The JBC biobank has obtained ISO9001: 2015 quality system certification and ISBER international certification.

Biobank is an important part of the Jiangsu Birth Cohort, and it is also an important resource for cohort research in the future. Our university attaches great importance to the construction of the China National Birth Cohort Biological Sample Bank, and gives full guidance and support to all the operation which aims to provide high-quality samples for related studies.

There are 7 fixed staff members in the biological sample bank, and the total number of samples has reached 1 million. With the development of the project, the number of samples is increasing.
