The cohort research center of Nanjing Medical University, established in March 2017, is one of the important branches of the National Key Laboratory of Reproductive Medicine. It is mainly dedicated to the construction of China's national birth cohort and related research. The center has 11 full-time teachers, 10 part-time teachers, and many graduate students and full-time employed people to participate in the queue building and research center.

At present, the center is mainly responsible for the construction and operation of the national key research and development program The Chinese birth cohort of assisted reproductive population and offspring: the construction and application (project No.2016YFC1000200) and Investigation of environmental and genetic factors and their interactions of infertility in a population-based study (project No. 2018YFC1004200) and Clinical cohort and Interventional studies to investigate the genetic issues in offspring conceived through assisted reproductive technology (Project No. 2021YFC2700600).

The  research center aims to build a regional representative group of infertility and assisted reproduction and its offspring in China, thereby collecting a large number of population sample database and multigroup data resources, providing scientific basis for the individualized and accurate prevention and control of related diseases, and to promote the continuous development and optimization of human assisted reproductive technology towards a safer and more reliable direction, to produce a series of research results with significant and far-reaching impact, and finally to achieve the sustainable preservation of human reproductive health and the continuous improvement of population quality.
