What is the “Maternal and Child Health Plan”?
“Maternal and Child Health Plan” is a multi-center collaborative research program dedicated to promoting the near and long-term health of the reproductive population and its children. It is supported by Nanjing medical university and the “Study on prevention and control of reproductive health and major birth defects” of the National Key Research and Development Plan of 2016.
We will provide continuous, high-quality follow-up service for you and your baby. If you join in our plan you should only help us to complete questionnaires and supply some biological samples including (blood sample, cord blood, follicular fluid, sperm of husband, and fingertip blood of baby).
You do not need to pay any extra money if you join our plan. We have already over 10,000 assisted reproduction and 10,000 natural pregnancy mothers have joined the family! Since its launch in 2014, many units have participated in the plan. The details are shown below:
We plan to recruit 30,000 assisted reproduction and 30,000 natural pregnancy families
We have some basic requirements:
1.Natural pregnancy families:
*Gestational age ≤14 weeks
*No relocation plan in the near future
*Clinic visit and delivery in the hospital that belongs to our alliance
2.Assisted reproduction families:
*No relocation plan in the near future
*Clinic visit and delivery in the hospital that belongs to our alliance

Pregnant women who meet the requirements of building cards in our hospital (no bad records in the registration and appointment system of the hospital) can establish cards through priority channels;
Provide a special escort or queuing priority service in the process of building a card.
The Department of Pediatric Insurance and Child Early Development Center of the hospital will provide free diagnostic and therapeutic services for your children, such as daily dietary structure assessment, child growth and development assessment, and child intellectual development assessment.
1. Natural pregnancy families:
*Early pregnancy(≤14 weeks): female questionnaire(15-18min), male questionnaire(10-12min), female/male blood sample
*Second trimester (22-26 weeks): female questionnaire(5-8min), female blood sample
*Late pregnancy (30-34 weeks): female questionnaire(5-8min), female blood sample
*Delivery: cord blood sample
*42 days: questionnaire (5-8min)
*6 months: questionnaire (5-8min)
*1 year old: questionnaire(15-18min), developmental assessment, physical examination, oral examination ophthalmic examination, intelligence assessment, fingertip blood
*3 years old: questionnaire(15-18min), developmental assessment, physical examination, oral examination, ophthalmic examination, intelligence assessment, fingertip blood
2.Assisted reproduction families:
*Before oocyte retrieval: female questionnaire(15-18min), male questionnaire(10-12min), female/male blood
*14 days after transplantation: pregnancy blood test (assisted reproductive cohort)
*Post transplant ultrasonic (early pregnancy): early pregnancy female questionnaire
*Second trimester (22-26 weeks): female questionnaire(5-8min), female blood sample
*Late pregnancy (30-34 weeks): female questionnaire(5-8min), female blood sample

*42 days: questionnaire (5-8min)
