On 3th January, 2017, the launch meeting of National key research and development Project of Nanjing Medical University, "Establishment and Application of Chinese population assisted Reproductive population and progeny cohort", was held in Suzhou Municipal Hospital. At the launch meeting, Nanjing Medical University and Suzhou Municipal Hospital signed a cooperation agreement and held the opening ceremony of Suzhou Municipal Hospital "National key research and development Project demonstration Base". The ceremony was presided over by President of Suzhou Municipal Hospital Zhicheng Hong, deputy director of Suzhou Health and Family Planning Commission Xiaokang Chen, president of Nanjing Medical University Hongbing Shen, Professor Zhibin Hu, Professor Yankai Xia and other members of the project team all participated in the meeting.

At the launching meeting, President Zhicheng Hong of Suzhou Municipal Hospital introduced the basic situation of Suzhou Municipal Hospital; Professor Yankai Xia introduced the general situation and implementation of the projects; the president of Nanjing Medical University, Hongbing Shen, highly praised the achievements of Suzhou State Hospital and Nanjing Medical University over the past two years. At the meeting, the two sides had a heated discussion and both agreed that the completion of the demonstration base would provide mutual support and guidance in academic exchanges, personnel training, scientific research cooperation, decision-making and consultation and promote common development.
