In order to strengthen the management of biobanks and improve the ability of teachers and students to deal with emergencies in biological sample banks, our center held an emergency drill for deepcryogenic refrigerator on the afternoon of March 27. The drill was chaired by associate Professor Jiangbo Du, who is in charge of the biobank, and was attended by biobank staff, members of the emergency response team, and some graduate students.

Firstly, associate Professor Du introduced the importance of emergency drills in the biobanks. Then, teacher Kun Zhou introduced the common failures of deep cryogenic refrigerator and the countermeasures.Immediately, under the command of Teacher Bo Xu, all personnel quickly entered the emergency state.

The drill simulated by a deep cryogenic refrigerator failure. After receiving the deep cryogenic refrigerator failure alarm, the on-duty personnel Xianxian Zhu immediately checked the status of the refrigerator and immediately notified the emergency team members. The emergency team members conducted samples transfer according to the arrangement of the equipment administrator (Teacher Xiaoyu Liu), and the on-duty personnel Xianxian Zhu made a detailed record of the transferred samples.

Finally, associate Professor Jiangbo Du gave a summary speech on the exercise. Through the exercise, we have effectively improved our emergency response ability. Teacher Bo Xu emphasized that in our daily work, teachers and students should strictly implement standard operating procedures (SOP), abide by rules and regulations, regularly maintain the refrigerator, and promptly and calmly handle any failures to ensure the safety of biological samples.
